Induction Ceremony attracts 250 attendees
By all accounts, the 2006 Induction and Awards Ceremony was a huge
success, not only for the Transportation Hall of Fame, its Inductees and
family members, but also for the NC Transportation Museum and the Town of
Spencer, since the vast majority of the attendees had not visited the
museum before, but pledged to return and spend more time.

2006 Program Announced
In addition to the eight inductees, there will be four named awards
presented......in addition to the Founders' Award started in 2004 and the
Perley A Thomas Award presented for the first time in 2005, have been
added two new awards: the Earl E Congdon Award (highway freight
transportation) and the Thomas H Davis Award (aviation). For more

2006 Inductees Announced
Eight individuals have been selected for induction into the NC
Transportation Hall of Fame on October 31, 2006.......
.....Emily Brown Blount, Hampton D. Haith, Carl Mickey Sr, Malcom P.
McLean Sr, Mary Webb Nicholson, Coleman Roberts, Willis Slane, and

Venue selected for 2006 Induction and Awards Ceremony
Rowan County has been chosen as the site for the 3rd Annual Induction and
Awards Ceremony. The event will be held at the North Carolina
Transportation Museum Roundhouse and will be preceded by the unveiling of a permanent
exhibit featuring the first three years' inductees. Go to
