NOTICE:
In a break with the seven-year tradition, there will
not be an induction and award ceremony in the
Fall of 2011; it has been postponed until the Spring
of 2012 for the convenience of several sponsors and
supporters. The venue and the date will be announced
later in 2011, as will the names of the inductees.
Nominations may be submitted by email to
NCTHF by July 31, 2011.

We are saddened to learn of the passing
on May 13, 2011 of 2007 Inductee
C. E. "Ed" Vick, Jr.
who joins
Paul D. Cribbins,
Billy Rose and Carl F. Mickey, Sr,
all of whom were inducted during
their lifetimes in the joyful presence
of their families and friends.

Induction and Award Ceremony and Luncheon held on

The four awards presented
in 2010 are as follows: The
Founders Award was presented to
North Carolina Operation
Lifesaver;
the Nello L. Teer Sr. Award for
Excellence in Transportation Construction
to the NC Turnpike
Authority; the
Perley A. Thomas Award for Excellence in Pupil
Transportation to retired
transportation director of Cleveland County Schools,
Don Byrnes,
and the Earl E. Congdon Jr. Award for
Excellence in Highway Freight Transportation
to
Duane and Pat Long
of Longistics. The
Tom
Davis Award for Excellence in Aviation
was not presented this year.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER
NC Secretary of Transportation
Gene Conti was the
Keynote Speaker, a role that he undertook in Charlotte
in 2009.
